CCH® PENSION — 08/30/11 IRS grants tax relief to victims of storms and floods in MontanaThe IRS has announced tax relief for taxpayers who reside or have a business in the federal disaster area of Big Horn, Carbon, Cascade, Custer, Fergus, Garfield, Hill, Jefferson, Judith Basin, Lewis and Clark, Musselshell, Petroleum, Sweet Grass, Valley and Yellowstone counties, and the Blackfeet Indian, Crow Indian and Fort Belknap reservations in Montana affected by storms and flooding beginning April 3, 2011. The relief extends until June 30, 2011 deadlines for filing most returns, including Form 5500, and paying taxes otherwise due during the period of April 3, 2011 and June 30, 2011. This includes the April 18 deadline for filing 2010 individual income tax returns, making income tax payments and making 2010 contributions to an individual retirement account (IRA). For employment and excise tax deposits due during the period of April 3, 2011 and April 18, 2011, the IRS will waive the failure to deposit penalties if such deposits were made by April 18, 2011.
