Rep. George Faught supports Balanced Budget Amendment

“I am proud to join many of my legislative colleagues in support of the proposed Balanced Budget Amendment. If this amendment passes Congress, I look forward to Oklahoma taking the lead in ratifying the amendment,” Faught said. “I have always believed that government must live within a budget, much like how I operate my carpet cleaning business, or how we all do as families.” A group of 42 legislators have signed on in support of a proposed federal Balanced Budget Amendment. The group sent a letter to the U.S. congressional sponsors of the proposal and Oklahoma’s congressional delegation. The letter expresses the legislators’ support of the Balanced Budget Amendment and declares the legislators’ intent to work for ratification of the proposal in Oklahoma. Signers of the letter include several members of House leadership, including House Speaker Kris Steele, Speaker Pro Tem Jeff Hickman and Majority Floor Leader Dan Sullivan. House Rules Committee Chairman Gary Banz also signed the letter. Banz’s committee would likely oversee the development and advancement of the ratification resolution. Other signers include state Reps. John Bennett, David Brumbaugh, Dennis Casey, Josh Cockroft, Marian Cooksey, David Derby, Faught, Randy Grau, Sally Kern, Charles Key, Scott Martin, Steve Martin, Mark McCullough, Randy McDaniel, Lewis Moore, Glen Mulready, Jason Murphey, Jason Nelson, Tom Newell, Pat Ownbey, Ron Peters, Phil Richardson, Mike Sanders, Colby Schwartz, Seneca Scott, T.W. Shannon, Randy Terrill, Todd Thomsen, Steve Vaughn, Paul Wesselhoft and Harold Wright. The letter was also signed by state Sens. Josh Brecheen, Bill Brown, Greg Treat, Jim Halligan, David Holt, Clark Jolley and Steve Russell. Faught, who was reported by the Congressional Quarterly as the GOP’s likely nominee for the 2nd Congressional District seat being vacated by Congressman Dan Boren, further said, “I am publicly pledging that if chosen by the people of Oklahoma’s 2nd District to represent them in Congress, I will fight to balance the budget, and restore fiscal responsibility to Washington. Faught was the first Republican elected to represent Oklahoma House District 14. Faught and his wife, Becky, have been married for nearly 29 years. They live in Muskogee and have three grown children, Tyler, Jamison and Savannah. They operate a family-owned carpet cleaning business that has been serving communities in eastern Oklahoma for the past 24 years. Sharing my 56 F100 project.... - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

I decided to put up a thread involving my project just because I have been so inspired by the rest of the projects that others have shared. I really enjoyed reading them and seeing the progress and ideas and whatnot used. Really been good therapy to keep me going on mine. i usually wouldn't have time to sit and do this but since my knee is trashed once again, might as well. The truck started out actually as my dad's purchase but it quickly became too much for him to deal with and he wanted something much further along... more or less one that was done. So i agreed to take over the project from him so he could go buy another truck. Not like I needed yet another project, but I do have a soft spot for these trucks and had an empty feeling after having to sell my '55 a couple years ago. Pretty much everything in the truck needed ripped out and redone. Rear axle was a heinz-57 of parts and the engine poorly mounted (and no good to boot) Body is in pretty decent shape, minor rust in all the common spots, but nothing too major. Solid floors and roof and decent bolt-on sheetmetal. Started this project the end of Feb '11 in hopes to have it on the road in a month or so... ha.. that was wishful thinking!! My goal was jus tto get it safely and reliably running and driving and enjoy it a bit this summer. Well my summer is quickly running out!! I figured I'd get it to that point, fix or change what i didn't like, tear it all down again, for paint and body work later on. Mainly as I don't have the money to paint it now!! But it'd be nice to enjoy it. After yarding out the engine I realized that the PO didn't do the best nor safest job on mounting the FE. I sat crooked, tilted too much, and clock a bit in the engine bay. You didn't notice this until you looked at from the back while underneath it.(the clocked part) So I easily wiped all the crap bracktry off with a 5lb sledge hammer, and a little precice cuting on the 3-4 welds that actually did hold a bit.
