Bocce Court East Bay - News

Speaking of trendy new bars with game attractions, Make Westing in Oakland has been up and running for a week or two across the way from the Fox. It has a bocce ball court inside, so there's that. Here's the East Bay Express' early take.
An all-county bocce tournament between senior centers runs from 9:30 am to 3 pm on Monday, Aug. 29, at Lynden's bocce court at Bender Fields. Teams from around the county will compete for the annual trophy and bragging rights.
With the help of the East Bay Regional Park District, the Taylors found the perfect 138-acre property in the Livermore Valley and raised nearly $7M to build Camp Arroyo. Camp Arroyo includes 12 cabins, a medical infirmary, a dining hall, a bocce ball
It overlooks a new bocce ball court below and the bay beyond. The lower level is accessed by a glass, stone and walnut staircase that leads directly to a floor to ceiling, glass wine cellar visible on the descent. The rooms are all faced with floor to
The Taylor Family Foundation's Day in the Park in Livermore, CA ...
The Taylor Family Foundation ’s 21st Annual Day in the Park event takes place on Sunday, August 28th, from 11:30AM to 5:30PM at Camp Arroyo in Livermore, CA. Proceeds from the Day in the Park auction fundraiser help The Taylor Family Foundation to continue offering the gift of camp to more and more children. In addition to serving children with life-threatening diseases, chronic illnesses, and developmental disabilities, The Taylor Family Foundation is committed to sharing the gift of camp with at-risk youths.
For those who would like to contribute to this great cause but cannot attend the event, they can still help. La Rochelle, an artisan winery focusing on Pinot Noir, announced that seven dollars from every bottle sold of its new 2008 La Rochelle “Bradley Vineyard” Pinot Noir will go directly to the Taylor Family Foundation in Livermore . The winery debuted this single-vineyard release at a “Tasting on the Patio” in July. The L.R. “Bradley Vineyard” Pinot is from Oregon’s well-regarded Umpqua Valley appellation and retails for $28. The wine is specially labeled with the Taylor Family Foundation logo. “It is an honor and privilege to help TTFF. Their longtime work providing camp experiences for children with special needs in our area is inspirational. By donating fifty percent of the wine’s profits, we hope to raise a substantial amount of money to help with their efforts,” said La Rochelle owner Steven Kent Mirassou.
In 1990 Barry and Elaine Taylor opened their hearts and the backyard of their Lafayette home to help children directly affected by HIV/AIDS. At the time, the Bay Area had nearly 1,000 children living with HIV/AIDS, and the Taylors decided to focus their backyard fundraising efforts to help these children. They started The Taylor Family Foundation to support clinical programs, social programs, holiday events, summer field trips, and activity days for the children.
The Taylor Family Foundation became aware of a one-week summer camp that accommodated 35-40 HIV/AIDS children each year. Only the most ill and fragile children were selected to attend. Determined to make outdoor adventures possible for more children to experience, Barry and Elaine Taylor decided to build their own camp for children with HIV/AIDS. With the help of the East Bay Regional Park District, the Taylors found the perfect 138-acre property in the Livermore Valley and raised nearly $7M to build Camp Arroyo.
